“I believe that we can all learn how to paint, but it is in the silent, authentic, beautiful recesses of our hearts and souls where a true masterpiece is born.  True artistic skill, the courage to interpret the images of that place and bring them into the world for you to experience is my goal.” - Lesley Humphrey

"I have always loved color and use it freely in my work.  I believe that life is supposed to be vibrant and light filled.  Color enhances that viewpoint.  If life were black and white, it might be simpler, but it would also be boring.  I choose to live life in full color and keep my creative energy alive by experimentation.  I’m prepared to make and embrace mistakes and find little moments that work."-Jana Kappeler

Lloyd and his wife, Teresa, in addition to working their own livestock enjoy every opportunity to visit other ranches. They also admire old architecture and visit many historical towns throughout Texas. This not only gives Lloyd the inspiration to paint outdoors, but to paint old structures in different light and angles. The colors and values come to life on canvas. Lloyd's choice of medium is oils and with a wide variety of brush strokes and palette knife, his goal is to furnish collectors and admirers a tranquil enjoyment of his compositions with an occasional WOW factor .

"Creating art reminds me of my childhood, when we would make up plays and do circus performances for the neighborhood. I loved sitting outside with my neighborhood buddies at night watching the fireflies and telling the most fabulous and exciting stories. Our imagination had no boundaries. When I become immersed in creating a piece, the excitement of the story unfolding before my eyes reminds me of the magic of those firefly nights. Working in clay brings out memories and feelings that I love to express in my work. I like to tell stories with my art, and the encaustic finish on the clay sculpture adds depth, and a feeling of the past. Each of my sculptures has a story that has unfolded for me, as I created the piece."-Maralyn Wilson

"I have always loved to draw the face and figure. If I'm not actually drawing from the posed model or sketching people going about their everyday lives, I'm probably thinking about it. I seldom miss an opportunity to draw or paint from life and I strive every day to capture not just a likeness of my subjects, but also the more elusive qualities of spirit, mood and emotion. " I thank my great granddaddy for passing on the artistic genes to me; he is my guardian angel. His plain gray easel, spotted with his past smears, dots of painting, and little holes from pinning his reference materials to it is what I use; it makes me feel close to him. I still have some of his brushes, well-used, worn-out nubs that they are. One of my prized possessions is his pencil self- portrait. His favorite story told over and over when we visited him was about Van Gogh."- Jonelle McCoy
